In 1989 Carol became a Naperville Township Trustee. In 1990, in order to fill a vacancy, Carol was appointed to the position of Township Clerk and is still serving as Clerk. In her position as Clerk she was instrumental in getting absentee voting into the township office and reaching out to the community to register eligible high school students to vote.
